New releases from MUJERES PODRIDAS, WHITE CROSS and RHDP out now + BIG SALE!!!

OHHHHH YEAH! Folks, I'm back with some new releases - the last of em for the year. We got two modern full lengths that have captivated me the whole way through since hearing them months and months ago and a reissue of a VA/US/INTERNATIONAL/UNIVERSAL hardcore punk classic rager of a slab. Before we get to it I also wanna announce a fun little raffle - everyone who purchases all three of the new releases will be entered into a drawing to win an original deadstock copy of the WHITE CROSS - FASCIST EP! You're thinking "why would you do that?" and I say "because it's fun!" okay here we go:
MUJERES PODRIDAS - SANGRE Y SOL
Austin, Texas punk powerhouse MUJERES PODRIDAS returns to us hot off the heels of a Japanese tour with their "SANGRE Y SOL" LP, the first we have heard from them since 2021's "MUERTE EN PARAISO." Over the years, each release has seen the band not only honing their skill but ultimately carving out their own territory within the vast sonic terrain we're all immersed in as enthusiasts of this music and "SANGRE Y SOL" is truly the pinnacle of their nearly decade journey thus far. The aural steamroller that is this ensemble aside, this record is not meant to be merely a linear punk album with one sound but rather a cohesive collection of experiences of growing up on the border of South Texas reflected by varied levels of mood and intensity. These songs are about love, violence, death. They reflect the general passion that comes from balancing the intense highs and lows of life while still being proud of the land that nourished and raised the members of this group. In short, "SANGRE Y SOL" is meant to represent the violence and danger people face crossing the border on foot and the long journey that lies ahead navigating through a society and landscape that are often both inhospitable and harsh.
Each record comes in a full package featuring an outstanding LP jacket and newspaper print poster composed by drummer Phill Gonzalez alongside illustrations by Kumi Gardner that help to convey these stories and emotions on a visual level. Mixed by Mike Kriebel at Abbey Road West and mastered by Dan Randall at Mammoth Sound.
There are 150 copies on CLEAR VINYL for mailorder while they last!
Also, the long out of print and previously mentioned MUERTE EN PARAISO LP is back in print on yellow vinyl, limited to 300 copies!
WHITE CROSS - FASCIST EP
Beach Impediment is honored to be reissuing a top tier USHC classic that came into being right here in Central Virginia. In the summer of 1982 when Richmond's RED CROSS (see BIR-062) came to an abrupt end, guitarist Mikey Rodriguez didn't seem to miss a beat, recruiting Crispy Cranmer, formerly of GASSE 32, on vocals to continue his vision of creating frantic, fast and ugly hardcore punk... and they did just that late one October night, sneaking into the studios of Union Theological Seminary to belt out 8 urgent and furious tracks clocking in at just over 5 minutes, immortalized on a platter compliments of local punk stalwarts Zero Degree Records later that year. What became known as the "FASCIST EP" (a title unintended by the band that stuck per Jeff Bale's glowing review in Maximum Rock and Roll #5) spread far and wide in the months that followed, not only cementing the band's place in the annals of international hardcore punk history but also triggering a regional explosion with the genre; the fuse of which had been lit by Mikey's previous service in MOD SUBS and the aforementioned RED CROSS. This is just the beginning of our long awaited reissues of the legendary WHITE CROSS - stay tuned!
Each record comes in a stunningly accurate reproduction sleeve featuring a never before seen band photo from when the boys opened for THE EXPLOITED, an insert with the long lost lyrics accompanied by a collage of flyers and other imagery related to the release, a duplicate of the original sticker so ya don't have to send a S.A.S.E. as originally requested by the band and hey - even the center labels are the original design that the prudes at United refused to print due to the excessive profanity on them!
There are 200 copies on WHITE VINYL for mailorder while they last!
And if ya want a fun little VALU PAK deal, check out the Big Cartel entry for last year's RED CROSS 12" in case ya missed out on that :)
RHDP - KASKASERO LP
"Forget all the RHCP jokes, RHDP has no time to pay attention to anything worthlessly American like bars that don’t serve Red Horse beer. The Filipino power trio hail from Virginia Beach and for nearly 15 years have been one of the best kept secrets in the Virginia punk scene. The Red Horse Drunk Punks (or is it Red Horse Drugs Pancit these days?) look to hard rock from across the decades and world as ingredients to their drunken stew of rock. They carry the torch of bands like Annihilation Time or Motörhead with the ability to make it burn brighter taking from hometown heroes like The Juan De La Cruz Band and the Twisted Red Cross catalog.
With KASKASERÖ the band lands on wax for the first time since 2016’s Silinyador EP with their best sound yet. The long awaited full length hits like a sonic punch of unrelenting guitar shredding, tight drums, belting vocals in Tagalog and the expert playing of a Filipino kubing jaw harp on RAK EN RÖL II HIMIG NG KUBING. You won’t find a single song that doesn’t have you wanting to drive a Jeepney 100mph through the HRBT. Inventive and original yet from the first minute it’s clearly unadulterated RAK EN RÖL just the way it was meant to be."

There are 100 copies on BLUE VINYL for mailorder while they last!
Did you miss out on the previous two RHDP EP's from years past? I got a few from the band available as a little VALU PAK deal via the Big Cartel webstore.
As always, buy here and buy / stream / download here.
In other news, the LONG KNIFE - CURB STOMP EARTH LP is finally back in print - a 3rd pressing of 500 copies on GREEN VINYL! Snag or don't!
Oh and despite cutting down on the distro years ago I've been known to dabble here and there. I tossed up two things that are nothing alike - a recent Japanese hardcore 7" that blew my mind and a fan club pressing of a late 60s Richmond soul group; both of which are already sold out from sources of production. See the Big Cartel for more info. Much like the KNIFE above, snag or don't!
I also got some sick buttons from the head honcho at PEN ISLAND - most of them based on archival releases I've done in the past. Order 3 LP's or more and I will sneak some in your package.
Annnnd as mentioned in the header of the email, there's a BIG SALE! A recent move to the new B.I.R. HQ made me say "holy fuck, I need to do a sale" so that's the story behind that. Loads of label releases and distro items have been marked down in the Big Cartel! I didn't do it in Bandcamp because they take a huge cut but hey, most releases are available for free download so like, buy em from the Big Cartel then put "0" in when downloading those from Bandcamp. That's my lifehack that I will share with you today. The sale will run through the end of the year, probably longer as I will more than likely forget to reverse or edit it or whatever.
I think that does it for now. Orders will start shipping next week. Thanks for another lovely year of doing this label. It's crazy to think that next year is the 15th anniversary of Beach Impediment. Don't worry, I won't unleash any shenanigans beyond some more great records that are in the works already so stay tuned! Much love.
