11/4/16 - OMEGAS - POWER TO EXIST 12" OUT NOW!!

Greetings! I'm rather excited to FINALLY announce the release of this one, as it's been a project in the making for a few years now! After a series of road blocks in nearly every phase of the process of this recording, the OMEGAS - POWER TO EXIST 12" is in my possession and ready to roll! I've been a major fan of this band since day one and was absolutely tickled that they asked me to be a part of releasing the latest chapter in their hardcore odyssey. Words fail me at the moment, so I'll let the poetic ramblings of a certain Toronto born Mad Man take the reigns from here:

"Much anticipated answer to 2011's 'Blasts of Lunacy,' the Omegas leave off where they picked up, coming back to their personalized vision of the nooks and crannies of early NYHC and proto hardcore cum Darby Crash cum Nollywood prankster at ever more obtuse and challenging angles. The riffs implode and the changes are impossible to follow without a map that probably leads somewhere unpleasant. Even still, the confusion feels like a stroke of luck. The gift is not knowing what you're hearing yet but knowing you've wanted to hear it your whole life. Duck, dive, spit, slam, kill: Makes you go Boom Boom. Flash forward, the power to exist. FFO: getting stop and frisked by the NYPD and having them find a giant lollypop in your otherwise empty bag/wondering who killed Tony Frenchman"

-Jonah Falco, 2016

Each record comes in a full color jacket adorned with a collaborative painting by Spoiler and Hoagie along with a printed inner sleeve, safely secured in a lovely shrink wrap.

There are 200 copies on red vinyl for mailorder customers available here while they last!

The record is also streaming in its entirety over at the (relatively) new Beach Impediment Records Bandcamp - it's also available for download as well in case some of ya that don't mess around with vinyl records and whatnot.

If you're like to obtain wholesale copies of this record, drop me a line at beachimpediment[at]gmail[dot]com

ATTENTION CANADIANS!!! The ever so awesome FAITH / VOID in Toronto will have a metric shit ton of this release for sale, both online and in the store. And yes, they will have color copies as well! So, I urge you to please order this record from them here (and if they're not up yet please be patient, they'll be up soon). As I'm sure you know by now, shipping from America to Canada is a nightmare and it is my hope that this option will help you all out a little bit. They might also have a limited amount of wholesale copies as well, but you'll have to contact them to check and see regarding that.

In other news, the repress of the WARTHOG - S/T EP has finally arrived as well! 500 copies on black vinyl with red center labels. The first pressing of 1,000 copies disappeared in a bit over a week this past August / September, so if ya missed out the first time around get on it!

On the distro front, I got a lot of new stuff kicking around! Here's a glimpse at some of it:

BLAZING EYE - WAYS TO DIE EP
BLAZING EYE - LONELY CORPSE EP
DISCLOSE - FEAR OF THE WAR Tape (Japankore deadstock, should have more soon in the event I sell out of them quick)
THE STRAND - SECONDS WAITING LP (cool old power pop reissue!)
BAD NOIDS - IT'S A DOGGIE BAG WORLD EP
WET BRAIN - S/T EP
JJ DOLL - S/T EP
TORTURE CHAIN - WASTING SYNDROME LP
WOUND MAN - ROLLED EP
VIDEO FILTH - S/T EP

+ plenty more! I've also dropped the prices on the 7" and 12" clearance bins, so check em out!

And for those that like to look forward into the future, here's a wee glimpse at some upcoming B.I.R. releases:

CONCEALED BLADE 12" (in production, hoping to have it out early 2017)
FRIED EGG new 7"
BLOOD PRESSURE new 7"

+ some other fun stuff that I can't quite let loose yet. Stay tuned!

That does it for now! December will mark 5 years of Beach Impediment Records. Many thanks to all of you for the support and interest over that stretch of time. See you again in early 2017 when the CONCEALED BLADE 12" is out! Take care.

-B.I.R.
