12/27/24 - New releases from MOB 47 and SCUMBAG OUT NOW!!

Hey long time no talk! Getting a couple more in before the year is out - a domestic pressing of the new MOB 47 TILLS DU DOR 12" and some classic late 80's hardcore punk from Tokyo's SCUMBAG! Info is below:

MOB 47 - TILLS DU DÖR LP

The undisputed kings of mangel are back with what, believe it or not, is their first ever proper 12" LP in the form of "TILLS DU DÖR" - featuring 16 brand new tracks of GARANTERAT MANGEL!!!! Despite the more than four decades that have passed since the release of the band's all time cult classic "Kärnvapen Attack" EP, founding members Åke and Chrille (along with more recent member Christoffer on bass) clearly remain dedicated to the discipline of creating and executing top notch hardcore punk. And it's worth noting this isn't something reserved solely for the studio seeing that the band is still performing all over the world as well with recent dates in the USA and Colombia. Mob 47 is the epitome of a lifer band. Released earlier this year in Europe by the long running and high quality D-TAKT & RÅPUNK RECORDS, Beach Impediment is absolutely honored to help make this modern day classic more easily available to North American lovers and admirers of classic Swedish hardcore punk.

There are 150 copies on VIOLET VINYL for mailorder while they last.

EUROPE! Please order from D-TAKT & RÅPUNK.

THE SCUMBAG - S/T 12"

In celebration of the band's recent reunion appearance at a memorial gig for Roger Armstrong in Tokyo, Beach Impediment is honored to offer up the studio recordings of THE SCUMBAG on vinyl for the first time in over three decades! A bi-product of the late 80's crossover culture that was sweeping the world, THE SCUMBAG existed from 1988 through 1989, releasing a demo tape titled "Have Fun! More Fun!" and appearing on the V/A - ENJOY YOUR YOUTH BY THIS HARDCORE SAMPLER 12" alongside contemporaries like DISCLAIM, SIC, D.O.N.D.O.N. and FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS; the latter of which they'd share a split 12" with on the legendary MCR Company label in 1991 which accompanied a reunion with the original lineup. While most of the members would continue on in the form of DREAD YANKEES, bassist Takeshi Fukushima would go on to play with the likes of IDORA, SWEATS and ROCKY & THE SWEDEN. The mix of traditional Japanese hardcore with fast paced thrash and occasional melody yielded memorable and unique recordings that are available once again, remastered by Toshihisa Hirano from the original tapes. Each record comes in a jacket featuring the iconic FVK split 12" art slightly re-envisioned, along with an insert featuring archival imagery from the band's all too brief run.

There are 100 copies on EMERALD VINYL for mailorder while they last!

JAPAN! Possessed Label is handling a CD version of this release that not only features the studio tracks from this 12" but also ripping live sets circa 1988 and previously unreleased early demo tracks. Also, FUUDOBRAIN in Tokyo has copies of the 12" available if it's easier to snag from them.

As always, you can snag here and jam / snag here.

I know I usually do a year end sale but life I am too much of a coward to figure out my webstore right now. Fret not, I'll do something in the coming months before an office move that's in the cards. Or maybe, like, send me a funny video and I will make a coupon for ya? Eh I don't know. I will say this, if ya want an INVERTEBRATES 12" snag one ASAP as that one is close to being sold out yet again!

I'll keep it brief but thanks for another amazing year and expect much more in 2025 as we enter year 14 of the Beach Impediment label (WTF) - be well!
